SamiGrid®
Asphalt reinforcement for the rehabilitation of concrete pavements
SamiGrid is a composite product consisting of an asphalt reinforcement grid made from high-modulus polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibres in combination with a nonwoven fabric. Saturation of the nonwoven with bitumen means that SamiGrid also performs a sealing function to complement the reinforcing action of the grid. This powerful combination of materials results in a high-performance product that is ideal for the rehabilitation of concrete pavements by using an asphalt overlay. Through the active retardation of reflective cracking, SamiGrid significantly extends the service life of asphalt resurfaced concrete pavements.
Features
High resistance to alkaline environments
Reinforcing and sealing function
High temperature resistance
Long-term dynamic load capacity
High resistance to installation damage
Why choose SamiGrid?
Unlike other raw materials, PVA exhibits a high resistance to alkaline environments. This makes it ideal for the rehabilitation of concrete pavements.
SamiGrid is also suitable for the reinstatement of concrete surfaces damaged by alkali-silica reaction due to the particular benefits offered by its sealing function.
Given its high resistance to mechanical damage during installation, SamiGrid can also be laid directly onto milled surfaces.
SamiGrid is a registered trademark of HUESKER Synthetic GmbH.
The specialist in the rehabilitation of concrete pavements with SamiGrid
SamiGrid is a composite of a highly modular geogrid made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and a 130 g/m² non-woven fabric. In addition to the reinforcing properties of the grid, the bitumen-saturated non-woven fabric has a sealing and stress-relieving function. SamiGrid is perfect for use in the rehabilitation of concrete pavements due to its alkali resistance.
Benefits
- Composite of 130 g/m² non-woven fabric and PVA reinforcement grid
- Ideal for the rehabilitation of concrete pavements (alkali-resistant)
- Stress relieving, sealing and reinforcing function
- Very high resistance to paving damage
