HUESKER acquires Sineco International

With the acquisition of the Italian technology leader Sineco International, HUESKER now offers its own high-end drainage and dewatering products. This strengthens HUESKER's market position as the quality and technology leader for geosynthetic applications.

One-stop shop for high-end solutions- to better meet this claim in the future, HUESKER Synthetic is taking over the Italian company Sineco International. The focus is primarily on innovative and high-performance drainage and erosion control products. "A product segment in which we see significant future potential – especially with regard to market trends such as water transportation and storage as well as various applications in the environmental protection sector," explains HUESKER CEO Dr. F.- Hans Grandin. With the integration of Sineco into the HUESKER Group, the company's own product portfolio will be clearly expanded in this direction. "From now on, we offer our customers even more comprehensive tailor-made complete solutions in diverse application areas," says Grandin. Sineco is an innovator in the development and production of high-quality geocomposites and benefits from over 40 years’ experience from its founder. The company operates a state-of-the-art production site as well as its own research and development centre close to Milan, Italy. Based on innovative 3D thermoplastic monofilament technology, Sineco produces unique products for drainage, erosion control, soil stabilization, aeration, and noise protection. The acquisition by the HUESKER Group will take effect on April 3, 2025.

"Offering high-end solutions in all areas of its doing is the DNA of the HUESKER Group. Therefore, Sineco as a technological leader in the production of drainage mats and erosion control products and a continuous innovator in this field is a perfect fit for HUESKER."
Dr. F.- Hans Grandin, CEO HUESKER Synthetic

Potential for the future
For HUESKER, the acquisition not only means expanding the existing product portfolio but also acquiring a new production technology. The cutting-edge thermoplastic monofilament technology enables the production of three-dimensional structures and grids with different surface textures and a void index of up to 99 percent. "Sineco brings with it great production and application know-how with its decades of experience and a highly specialized and motivated team. In addition to the existing customer relationships, we see significant growth potential for the future," says HUESKER CEO Grandin. In recent years, company founder and previous owner Andrea Siniscalco has specifically prepared the company for the next growth step.

"We wanted to hand over Sineco to a strategic investor who, due to its market position, is able to support the next growth steps. It was particularly important to us to have a long-term perspective under the umbrella of a traditional and yet innovative, financially strong company that also embodies medium-sized and down-to-earth values."

Joined competencies
Sineco will continue to operate as a subsidiary of the HUESKER Group. The management will be jointly taken over by company founder Andrea Siniscalco, his son Alberto Siniscalco, and Stefan Heisterkamp, Head of Finance at HUESKER Synthetic. The company will remain operationally independent. The product portfolio, production site, and all existing jobs will be retained. HUESKER will introduce its experience and expertise in key functions to Sineco and introduce the products into the global sales channels.
