Situation
Due to extensive expansions of the research and teaching facilities on campus, the University of Tübingen required a new and larger recycling centre. This was to be clad with slim and visually elegant façade elements made of textiles.
Solution
The client opted for highly stable Tectura windbreak nets of type 60/60-1 in black. The material’s fine mesh ensures sufficient air circulation whilst providing protection against wind and rain. For aesthetic reasons, the façade cladding was tensioned upwards over the roof. This means that the fixing system is not visible from the outside and only the textile material defines the visible surface.
Advantages
The façade cladding with Tectura is visually appealing and offers optimum protection against wind and weather. At the same time, the windbreak net ensures good ventilation and sufficient daylight. No substructure is required, and installation can be carried out quickly and easily, even in large areas. Overall, this system is an ideal and cost-effective solution.
