Gescher, February 2021 / The foundation stone for today's HUESKER Group was laid in 1861. 160 years ago, our success story began from a former cotton processing textile company to today's globally active pioneer for technical solutions with synthetic special textiles. Today, our designed and manufactered geotextiles can be found in roads and traffic areas around the globe.
HUESKER discovered early on that the development of synthetic special fabrics opened up new, often still unthought of areas of application. In 1958 the company ventured into hydraulic engineering with filter tarpaulins and dyke bags. And success quickly followed.
In the years that followed, our product portfolio expanded with solutions for applications in earthworks and foundation engineering, road construction, environmental technology and mining. Today, geogrids, geocomposites and entire system solutions can be found alongside geogrids, replacing conventional construction methods in many cases because they are more economical, more durable and more sustainable thanks to lower CO2 emissions.
Agricultural textiles now account for a considerable proportion of our portfolio. Here, too, HUESKER has been able to establish itself as an ‚innovation‘ leader in the market. In addition to numerous solutions for efficient farm management, the portfolio today also includes a number of special solutions for industry.
Most recently, HUESKER has made headway into the further development of solutions in lightweight construction and has surprised the industry with continuous fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites, so-called neolaminates, which can be used, for example, in the aviation or automotive industries.
500 employees and ten subsidiaries worldwide
As an employer of more than 500 employees worldwide with six production sites and ten subsidiaries as well as a trading and sales network in over 60 countries, the HUESKER Group continues to shape the international markets as a pioneer in textile weaving.
30 years ago, in 1991, HUESKER founded its first subsidiary in the USA, which was expanded to include a production facility in 2016. Further subsidiaries in Brazil, Spain, Italy, England, France, Asia, the Netherlands, Russia and Australia subsequently followed.

Then as now, it is the people, their visions and values that are behind the success of this company. "Progressiveness, imagination, excellence, attractiveness and reliability form the foundation of our sustainable economic success," revealed Dr. F.- Hans Grandin, Chairman of the Management Board of the HUESKER Group. "These, our corporate values, were and are our compass that has guided HUESKER safely through many crises for more than 150 years. This also applies to the past year, which we have overcome together, so that HUESKER is stronger going forward" Grandin continues. With an experienced international team of skilled workers, engineers and specialists, the HUESKER Group believes it is also well prepared for the challenges ahead. To ensure that this remains the case, the company invests a lot of time and commitment in the training and further education of its employees. As a result, the company is now also an attractive employer for young, motivated junior staff, in particular, for vocational training and career entry in to a stimulating career.
