With 22 charging points at three locations, we at HUESKER are creating a future-proof charging infrastructure for e-mobility and offer green electricity for company cars, pool vehicles and for employees' and visitors' private cars.
In 2022, we took a big step towards climate neutrality at HUESKER. With the commissioning of our large-scale PV systems in Gescher and Dülmen, we have laid the foundation for intelligently supplying our company with solar energy. And we don't want to do without green electricity on the road either. For this reason, the installation was supplemented by high-quality charging stations, each with a maximum charging power of 22 kW.
Short process thanks to software backend
In order to keep the internal effort for all parties involved as low as possible, a high-quality and smart charging station technology was installed and linked to a cross-site, automated software backend system. A technical masterpiece that makes "short work" in the truest sense of the word. With the software backend, all charging points can be monitored, activated and controlled fully automatically – from anywhere in the world. For example, as soon as employees charge their private vehicle at a discounted rate, the electricity volumes are automatically billed. The charging stations can be easily controlled via RFID transponders, monitoring software. or via mobile phone app. Every HUESKER employee already owns the transponders with an RFID chip – e.g. for access to the factory premises or for time recording. Now every colleague can also use this chip to activate the charging processes – one access key for everything!
By the way: The electricity consumption emanating from the charging infrastructure is fully mapped in our higher-level energy management system — for complete documentation of our energy balance and even more transparency.
Preparing for the future
After more than a year, we can draw a consistently positive balance: The backend system exceeds our expectations and reliably automates the crucial processes. The frequency of charging stations is increasing continuously, and an expansion of the charging infrastructure by twice the size is already being planned for 2024. From a purely technical point of view, we could triple our capacities without laying new supply lines.
Actively shaping and keeping up with the changing times with innovations and new products is part of HUESKER's DNA, and with every pool vehicle or company car, we get a little closer to our goal.
It was particularly important to us to offer our employees additional motivation to reduce their individual CO2 footprint. Therefore, employees can charge their private vehicles in our car parks at a cost-effective rate. Together we are driving ahead, into a green future. Kind of electrifying. Don't you think?
